Vaccines

We are a vaccinating practice. We understand that many parents have questions about vaccine safety. That’s why we provide written evidence-based information with frequently asked questions about vaccines. We do require that our newborn patients start their vaccine series starting at two months, and are happy to provide answers to vaccine questions and our written material so that parents are comfortable with vaccinating. If you have further questions about vaccinating your children, and whether our office would be a good fit for your family, please call our office.

Appointments

Please arrive for your appointments on time. Patients who arrive more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule. New patients will be asked to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out necessary paperwork and check insurance eligibility. We encourage families to fill out certain paperwork online through our patient portal. A portal pin number can be obtained by calling our office. Appointments can be made by calling the office or by using our patient portal. Appointments can also be rescheduled through the portal up to 24 hours of your scheduled appointment. If you are transferring from another practice, we ask that you bring a copy of your child’s medical records prior to your first appointment so that we may have time to become familiar with your  child’s medical history.

Patients will not be seen without a copy of their medical record.

Missed Appointments

Time with our patients is important to us. New patients who miss more than two appointments or established patients who miss more than three appointments without notifying the office will be dismissed. We require 24-hour notice for canceling any appointments. There will be a $25 charge for missed sick and well appointments. Some appointments which are booked with extended time like nutrition, mental health or behavior visits will be charged $50.

Other Fees

There is a $10 fee for each form that is requested outside of an office visit. Please allow at least 48 hours for us to complete forms. We charge $5 per child to copy or transfer medical records

Triage

After hours calls and calls on holidays will be taken by the hospital triage service. We also recommend that you use your own insurance companies triage services for after hours calls. If you feel you need to be seen during hours that our office is not open, we recommend Prime Care  which has two locations in the Fredericksburg area.
